چکیده

It is well known that a conventional Input Shaping Technique is not very effective in suppressing residual vibrations for non-LTI systems, such as Substantially nonlinear or timevarying systems. In an effort to increase the effectiveness for such systems, this paper presents a Learning Input Shaping Technique(LIST), which iteratively updates the parameters of the IST from the previous trials. Simulations are presented for 4 different cases: (1) when the natural frequency or damping of a system does not estimated well; (2) when a system has time varying vibration; (3) when a system has nonlinear flexibility; and (4) when a closed loop system includes the saturation limit in the loop. The experiments are made by using a six D.0.F industrial robot to evaluate the method. The results of both the simulations and experiments show that the residua1 vibrations become considerably smaller as iteration goes on, thereby demonstrating the effectiveness of the LIST.

Closed-Loop Input Shaping in Discrete-Time LTI Systems

Introduction For linear time-invariant (LTI) setpoint control systems, input shaping is a powerful technique to reduce residual vibrations in those systems as shown in [1]. The targeting trajectory can be optimized (e.g. minimize targeting time or energy consumption) through convex optimization techniques. A broad overview of real-time or nearly real-time applications has been given in [2]. Inp...

AIOSC: Analytical Integer Word-length Optimization based on System Characteristics for Recursive Fixed-point LTI Systems

The integer word-length optimization known as range analysis (RA) of the fixed-point designs is a challenging problem in high level synthesis and optimization of linear-time-invariant (LTI) systems. The analysis has significant effects on the resource usage, accuracy and efficiency of the final implementation, as well as the optimization time. Conventional methods in recursive LTI systems suffe...

The Exact Solution of Min-Time Optimal Control Problem in Constrained LTI Systems: A State Transition Matrix Approach

In this paper, the min-time optimal control problem is mainly investigated in the linear time invariant (LTI) continuous-time control system with a constrained input. A high order dynamical LTI system is firstly considered for this purpose. Then the Pontryagin principle and some necessary optimality conditions have been simultaneously used to solve the optimal control problem. These optimality ...

Adaptive fuzzy pole placement for stabilization of non-linear systems

A new approach for pole placement of nonlinear systems using state feedback and fuzzy system is proposed. We use a new online fuzzy training method to identify and to obtain a fuzzy model for the unknown nonlinear system using only the system input and output. Then, we linearized this identified model at each sampling time to have an approximate linear time varying system. In order to stabilize...

Shaping Structure Dynamics With Truncation-Error Bounded Reduced-Order Models For Integrated Mechani - American Control Conference, 1998. Proceedings of the 1998

A method for shaping the structure dynamics of mechatronic systems using truncation-error bounded reducedorder models is developed and applied to the design of a heavy-duty robot with non-collocated sensors and actuators. Modeling is a critical issue in the integrated approach to design and control of mechanisms. The model required for mechanical design is different from the one for control des...
